That deep feeling in your gut—that you just KNOW you need to trust yourself and act in a way that may defy societal norms or your friends and family’s expectations...because you just KNOW that the next step is meant for you and is MEANT to be taken. My intention with this share is that it reminds you that some of the greatest and most aligned things you could ever ask for will become yours when you deeply trust and follow your intuition. Many of you know this story, but many of you do not, so enjoy it one and all.
Once upon a time in 2004, my favorite name for a little girl was Sabrina. It had been for decades (since experiencing the movie). I was nannying my way thru grad school and happened to be at the library with the little boy I nannied for at the time when I overheard a mom call out to her daughter ‘Tess’. I immediately LOVED the perfect simplicity and uniqueness of that name and thought that I should most definitely also have a daughter named Tess in my lifetime. Fast forward to a few months later when I has just started my consulting firm, had just broken off my engagement, and was sleeping on my best friend’s couch with a month to go until our new home was ready. By society’s terms, I was by no means in the place to adopt a dog, and I wasn’t actively looking. Then, one afternoon in late July, I heard an undeniable voice whisper ‘go look at the Dumb Friends League website’. I am very intuitive, but typically claircognizant vs clairaudient, so this form of divine guidance was new for me. Nonetheless, I clicked open the website and saw a 4 month old puppy named Tess. I dropped my work literally that minute, drove to the shelter to meet her. That day—July 27, 2004—began one of the greatest soul walks of my lifetime. I often think about what would have happened if I had let the Negative Nellie voices/aka resistance, the ‘shoulds’, or even my sister directly telling me what a horrible idea it was. Words cannot describe how grateful I am that I trusted my intuition and the divine guidance I so deeply felt much more than anything telling me otherwise... and we lived SUPER ever after. For almost 17 years. These pics of our first and final photo shoots together. Note that the final was the IDEA of sister—one of the first naysayers. So, bringing it back to my intention to serve you with this share...I offer you the gift of asking yourself what are you being called to or pulled to that feels so right in your heart that your head, your family, or society’s bullshit is trying to encourage you to resist? Love Always Wins. That deep feeling in your gut—that you just KNOW you need to trust yourself and act in a way that may defy societal norms or your friends and family’s expectations...because you just KNOW that the next step is meant for you and is MEANT to be taken.
